  • Ameron concrete poles are simple to install, whether you choose a base-plate system or a direct burial pole that can be embedded in all types of soils.
  • All poles are centrifugally cast using high-strength concrete. This process yields a significantly denser concrete than other casting methods while increasing the strength-to-weight ratio of the pole. The resulting dense concrete encapsulates freeze-thaw problems that can damage other types of concrete poles.
  • The concrete pole shafts are prestressed with high-tensile steel that is stretched before the concrete is cast, then released to maintain concrete compression during normal service conditions. Prestressing greatly increases both the strength and resilience of the pole, providing far greater longevity than non-prestressed concrete poles.
  • Permanent, corrosion-resistant mounts for luminaries may be cast integrally with the pole. This feature improves appearance and reduces installation and maintenance costs.
  • Cast-in aluminum handhole frames with flush-mounted covers are standard on most Ameron concrete poles. Flush-mounting restricts unauthorized access to electrical cables while enhancing the appearance of the shaft. To reduce installation costs, many poles are available with standard, pre-installed copper grounding wire accessible at the hand-hole.
  • Ameron concrete pole products are designed to meet or surpass regulatory guidelines for all types of projects. Our poles meet the standards of AASHTO, ACI, ASTM and the loading and strength requirements of the UBC.
